MHI – Q: Will my Medicare Supplement plan cover me overseas?

Posted by MedEd at MHI
A: Some (but not all) Medicare Supplement plans will cover overseas travel. You’ll want to choose Plan C, D, F, G, M or N if this benefit is important to you.

The supplement will pay 80% of Medicare approved charges as long as the service is one that would have been covered if provided in the United States and occurs within the first 60 days of the trip. A $250 annual deductible and lifetime limit of $50,000 will apply.

Since this does not cover all expenses, you may want to consider purchasing travel insurance as well.
